Chapter 19 Sacrifice For Victory

Chie and Raiden are standing on the castle wall.

Chie: “I want you to know, Emi chose to sacrifice herself for you. Don’t go blaming yourself”

Raiden: “How can I not. I chose to help her and she died”

Chie: “Hun you did help her. You set her free from her own hell. You aloud Emilia to get her life back”

Raiden looks out at the distance.

Chie: “Not to mention She got the most powerful general to help us. Her own sister is questioning her loyalty to Lucifer as well”

Raiden: “But I wish I could of done more to help”

Chie holds Raiden’s hand.

Chie: “Hun everything happens for a reason”

Raiden: “When I was reliving my past I learned more ways to use my powers. But there was also a transformation I lost”

Chie: “What can you do now?”

Raiden holds his hand and creates a little heart of lightning.

Chie: “Oh wow, that's so cute”

Raiden: “I can mould and shape my lightning into objects, weapons, Anything I can think of to be fair. Emilia trained me in sword combat in my past”

Chie: “Maybe you can practise again”

Raiden: “I'm not sure”

Chie: “Raiden, think about it, she is in a foreign world with no one she knows. She needs a friend right now”

Raiden: “I'm not the same person I was back then. I do not want to hurt her”

Chie: “Raiden how could you hurt her”

Chie laughs.

Chie: “just trust me, go to her”

Raiden lets go of Chie’s hand and walks to the door to get down to the ground.

Chie: “Hey wait for me”

Raiden and Chie meet the whole team at the inn.

Emilia: “Hey Raiden are you goanna speak to me now or do I have to kiss you to get your attention like normal”

Raiden and Chie sit down.

Raiden: “Hey Emilia, that was a long time ago. And to be honest I may have the same face as him but I'm not the person you knew”

Chie: “Real smooth!”

Chie roles her eyes.

Raiden: “I have his memories but not his feeling”

Emilia looks upset. Ika quickly butts in.

Ika: “So as we have the Hero Emilia the people have regained their faith”

Chie: “Emilia tell us about your team”

Emilia smiles.

Emilia: “That's easy there is”

Emilia stops and looks sad again.

Raiden: “Now look who messed up”

Emilia starts to cry.

Emilia: “I have no one. Not even my little sister”

Shen: “Well this isn't helping”

Emilia runs out of the inn crying. Raiden looks at Chie. Chie nods her head in the direction of the door. 

Raiden: “What!”

Chie: “Do I have to spell it out for you. Go after her”

Raiden: “Oh”

Raiden runs out the door.

Taiki: “Yea he can be a idiot”

Emilia is sitting on the roof of a clock tower. Raiden jumps up then sits next to her. Emilia sits there crying.

Emilia: “How did you find me”

Raiden: “Because you always ran to the tallest building”

Emilia: “I'm alone!”

Raiden: “No your not”

Raiden sits back looking at the stars.

Raiden: “You have me”

Raiden gently smiles.

Emilia: “We sacrificed so much to save the world and I lose everything”

Raiden: “Ouch I'm right here you know”

Emilia sits back as well looking at the stars.

Emilia: “Raiden are we even friends”

Raiden: “Yes of course we are”

Emilia looks at Raiden in anger.

Emilia: “Then why do you pretend your not the same person”

Raiden lets out a sigh.

Raiden: “The last days of the war. He did something. I mean, I did something”

Emilia: “What”

Raiden: “I generally did lose my memories but when I woke from lucifer control I remembered everything I did”

Emilia: “You did?”

Raiden: “I sacrificed my own kind to save the rest of the world That's why I can no longer admit to being the same person”

Emilia hugs Raiden.

Raiden: “All those children. I took their lives from them. That day. All those dragons”

Raiden looks destroyed.

Emilia: “Go on”

Raiden: “On the last day of the war to summon the legendary sword Gramr, it required a sacrifice”

Emilia: “what was it”

Raiden: “The souls of all dragons”

Emilia: “That explains the stone statues. Life less husks”

Raiden: “When enough souls were absorbed. It allows the use of the sword. That's when I met up with you and handed it over”

Emilia: “That's when I finished Yang. Hitting him with the blade. After that you were gone. Yang was also gone and there were 7 Crystals. That was the last thing I remember”

Raiden: “The sword made me lose my memories. Then after years of trying to find out who I was. That's when I met Shen and started living with my adopted family”

Emilia: “Can you tell me about Emi”

Raiden: “Well she was very strong and a master with her scythe. She cared a lot about her little sister. Sound familiar”

Emilia smiles.

Raiden: “Her hair was a crimson red as well as her eyes. She also had one horn on the left side of her head. She acted like she was evil but in fact she cared about others”

Raiden looks at Emilia.

Raiden: “You would say she is a reflection of you. That's why I felt like I needed to help her. Even though I had no idea why”

Emilia: “I see”

Raiden: “Do you know where the sword is now”

Emilia: “No idea”

Raiden: “Hey I could use some training my sword skills have become rusty”

Raiden puts his hand on the back of his head.

Raiden: “I haven't been practising”

Emilia: “Why am I not surprised. The only way I used to get you to train was if I promised. Well you know”

Raiden puts his hand out to Emilia.

Raiden: “Come on the others are waiting”

Emilia puts her hand in Raiden's and he pulls her up.

Emilia: “You know when all hopes lost you always find a solution and the positive of the outcome”

Raiden: “Wait a moment!”

Emilia: “what”

Raiden: “If taking away the crystal from Emi brought you back, then we can also bring back the others”

Emilia: “So the others are not gone. There just lost”

Raiden: “Yes, so that means you really are not alone”

Emilia: “There you go again”

Raiden: “What!”

Raiden grins.

Emilia: “Never mind”

Raiden and Emilia jump down.

Raiden: “I will always love you but my heart now belongs to someone else”

Emilia: “Understandable so just friends”

Raiden: “Yea”

Raiden puts his hand out for a shake, however Emilia pulls him in and hugs him. 

Emilia: “Come on idiot. Lets go”

Meanwhile at the inn.

Taiki and Leon are arm wrestling on the table. The whole bar is cheering Leon Leon Leon.

Chie: “Come on Leon”

Leons hand is pushing Taiki’s hand lower and lower down.

Shen: “Taiki what are you doing! How are you letting a girl beat you”

Taiki’s hand gets lower and lower to the table.

Chie: “Yess Leon Yes take the win for the girls”

Chie starts to down her alcohol. She then slams it on the table.

Chie: “Come on Leon!”

Leon slams Taiki’s hand down on the table, wining. The whole place cheers and Raiden and Emilia walk in.

Emilia: “Wow what did we miss”

Ika: “Taiki just got his back side kicked, also team you will all be having a meeting tomorrow so everyone head to bed”

Raiden: “Lets go”

Raiden and Shen walk up the stairs at the inn and the rest follow.
